We created a formal association, with a constitution and the usual officers. We\u2019ll be able to open a bank account, apply for grants, etc.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Friends of Nevern Castle is being set up as an association with the purpose of informing visitors and local residents &#8211; particularly young ones &#8211; about the Castle and the important history and heritage it represents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting included a wide representation from St Brynach\u2019s Church, Pembrokeshire County Council, Nevern Village Hall, the Trewern Arms, Nevern Community Council, local residents, and history enthusiasts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Current and planned activities include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Refresh the display panels, website, and leaflets<\/li><li>Organise school visits and guided tours<\/li><li>Run events like last year\u2019s barbecue.<\/li><li>Help with the maintenance of the site as a place for peaceful enjoyment by all.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These activities are complementary to the professional work done by Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority in maintaining the grounds and the remaining fabric of the Castle. The site is owned by Nevern Community Council &#8211; that\u2019s you and me, if you live in Nevern or Moylgrove.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1sH-4MCKqWyokiFlrOfBbi7-YyFSjmAee\/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\">Click here for a short presentation<\/a> of the aims of the association, and what\u2019s been done so far.
